The Eizo MX217-BK is the first MX-Series monitor to include EIZO’s Hybrid Gamma PXL function, which automatically distinguishes between monochrome and color images pixel by pixel, creating a hybrid display where each pixel has optimum grayscale. As a result, monochrome images are displayed in the DICOM® Part 14 grayscale, while color images are reproduced corresponding to Gamma 2.2, for improved efficiency when viewing color and monochrome images together.

Hybrid Display of Monochrome and Color
The Hybrid Gamma PXL function automatically distinguishes between monochrome and color images pixel by pixel, creating a hybrid display where each pixel has optimum grayscale. As a result, monochrome images such as CT, MRI and X-ray are displayed in the ideal grayscale that corresponds to DICOM Part 14, while color images such as 3D rendering, nuclear medicine, ultrasound and endoscopy are faithfully reproduced corresponding to Gamma 2.2. This helps improve efficiency of viewing both monochrome and color images by displaying them together on the one screen.
Achieve Clarity True to the Source Data
A medical monitor needs to be capable of high brightness in order to meet performance standards. However, in order to achieve high brightness in an LCD panel, the pixel aperture ratio has to be increased. This causes a typically unavoidable decline in sharpness. With EIZO’s unique Sharpness Recovery technology, the decrease in sharpness (MTF) is restored. This allows you to display an image safely on the monitor that is true to the original source data, even at high brightness levels.
MTF measures numerically how faithfully the panel transfers detail from the original image data for viewing. When Sharpness Recovery is turned on, in the case of a 2 pixel line pair (spatial frequency of 0.926 cycles/mm) the MTF increases by over 50%.
Environmentally-Friendly LED Backlight
By utilizing an energy-efficient LED as a backlight, the monitor achieves a high-brightness and low power consumption at the same time. Since the LED backlight is mercury-free, it will reduce any potential impact on the environment when it is disposed of.
High Contrast Ratio
The high contrast ratio of 1800:1 allows the Eizo RadiForce MX217 to provide users with the high level of image quality and detail essential for viewing medical images in clinical environments.
Quick Brightness Stabilization for Instant Viewing
At startup or upon wakeup, the EIZO patented drift correction function quickly stabilizes the brightness level. In addition, a sensor measures the backlight brightness and counteracts brightness fluctuations caused by ambient temperature and the passage of time.
Presence Sensor for Power Savings
The presence sensor prompts the monitor to switch to power save mode when it detects the user is away from the monitor, and then resumes normal operation when the user returns.

Calibration Kit – Model RadiCS UX2 . American College of Radiology guidelines still recommends the periodic use of a calibration kit to insure that diagnostic integrity is maintained over the life of the monitor. Some states now require the use and documentation of a calibration kit. Do not confuse this device with the front sensors on most diagnostic medical displays. They are not the same.
